1. Agreement to these terms

These terms apply when you book or join a Yummy Istanbul food tour, or use this website. When you make a booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to them, on behalf of everyone in your party. In these terms, “Yummy Istanbul,” “we,” “us” and “our” mean the food tour business operating in Istanbul, Türkiye.

2. Booking and payment

Online reservations can only be made with a valid credit card, through our booking system. Your place is confirmed once payment is received, and you get instant confirmation by email.

Prices are per person, in US dollars unless stated otherwise, and include the food, drinks and guiding described on each tour page. They do not include gratuities or anything not listed.

3. Cancellations, refunds and changes by you

Group tours and activities: cancellations made more than 24 hours before the tour start time are fully refundable. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start time are non-refundable.

Private tours and activities: cancellations made more than 5 days before the tour start time are fully refundable. Cancellations made within 5 days of the start time are non-refundable.

Amendment and reschedule requests are subject to availability.

Late arrivals and no-shows are non-refundable. This applies to any guest who fails to arrive, or who arrives after the tour has departed.

4. Changes or cancellation by us

Our tours run rain or shine. We only cancel for genuine safety reasons or circumstances beyond our control.

Occasionally we may need to cancel or move a tour (for example, if the minimum number of guests is not reached, or for safety). If we cancel, you can choose a full refund or an alternative date.

5. Minimum numbers

We need a minimum of 2 guests to run our food tours. If we do not reach this, we may have to cancel the tour or, if possible, move it to an alternative date. We will let you know by email at least 2 days before the tour, and you can take a full refund or choose another date.

6. The tour itinerary

Our tours visit small, independent and family-run places, so the exact route, venues and dishes can change from day to day and by season, depending on what is open and what our favorite vendors are serving best. The number of tastings and the spirit of the tour stay the same.

7. Health, fitness and mobility

Our food tours involve a fair amount of walking over a few hours, some standing, uneven streets and steps, and on some tours a public ferry. Please make sure the tour suits your fitness and mobility before you book, and tell us in advance about any health conditions, reduced mobility or pregnancy so we can advise you.

8. Food, allergies and dietary requirements

Guests with allergies and dietary restrictions are welcome to join our tours. However, please keep in mind that we cannot make a 100% allergy-free guarantee, because the food is prepared by independent kitchens that are out of our reach and control, and cross-contamination or cross-contact is possible. Most restaurants in Türkiye are unfamiliar with, and unable to make provisions for, serious cross-contact allergies.

Please tell us about any allergies before you book, and use your own judgment on the tour. If you have a life-threatening allergy, this tour may not be suitable for you. Our public tours are non-alcoholic unless stated otherwise.

9. Children

Infants aged 0 to 5 join free. Children are welcome on most tours, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Some tours, such as evening tours, may not suit young children.

10. Your conduct on the tour

We want everyone in the group to enjoy the day. We may ask anyone who is disruptive, unsafe, or noticeably intoxicated to leave the tour, without a refund.

11. Photos and video

We sometimes take photos and short videos on tour to use on our website and social media. If you would prefer not to appear, just tell your guide at the start and we will keep you out of shot.

12. Liability

You take part in our tours at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for personal injury, illness, or loss of or damage to your belongings, except where caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. We strongly recommend that you have your own travel insurance.

13. Events beyond our control

We are not responsible for any failure or delay in running a tour that is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, strikes, transport disruption, government action, or public-health measures.

14. Booking through other platforms

If you book a tour through a third-party platform, such as Viator, GetYourGuide or Airbnb, that platform’s own booking and cancellation terms also apply to your purchase.

15. Gift cards

Gift cards and certificates are non-refundable.

16. Website content

The text, photographs and design on this website belong to Yummy Istanbul and may not be copied or reused without our permission.

17. Privacy

We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, and any disputes relating to them are subject to the courts of Istanbul.
